Isábena Valley

Aragonese Pyrenees

Singular territory for its scattered villages, its customs, its people, its geographical contrasts. But above all for its Romanesque jewels: the Monastery of Obarra and the Cathedral of Roda de Isábena.
Located between the valleys of the Ésera and the Noguera Ribagorçana, it is the smallest, the Isábena Valley is the most unknown, the most surprising..
The basin of the Isábena Valley shapes the central lands of La Ribagorza. The mountain ranges that surround it have in the Turbón (2,492 m) one of their main references, whose massif acts as an authentic bioclimatic curtain between the Upper and Lower Ribagorza. It includes the municipalities of Graus, Capella-Laguarres, Lascuarre, Castigaleu, Monesma-Cajigar, Torre la Ribera, Veracruz, Isábena, Bonansa and Laspaúles.
The Isábena Valley is unique when it comes to activities in contact with nature. Hiking, canyoning, mountain biking, wildlife watching... And it is also an ideal place for geology lovers, who will find in this valley interpretive panels with the geological history of this area in the last 65 million years.

Castanesa Valley

Aragonese Pyrenees. 6 km from Bonansa

The Aragonese side of the natural region of the Romanesque Ribagorza includes some wonderful valleys, little inhabited, but that makes its villages something very particular. The view of these places will be unforgettable.
The Castanesa Valley has its highest point in the north (Vallibierna at 3,067m), which together with the Castanesa Peak (2,858m) and Basibé (2,729m) make this enclave a unique place for ascents outside the crowds of other parts of the Pyrenees.
Also, the excursions between the villages of Fonchanina, Castanesa, Ardanuy, Benifonts, Ribera, Denuy, Noales, etc.. They have a great attraction. There you can still breathe the authentic Pyrenees, the mountain not prostituted with second homes and large resorts

Val d'Aran

Catalan Pyrenees. 37 km from Bonansa

The Val d'Aran (www.lavalldaran.com) offers very different characteristics from the rest of the Pyrenean valleys that belong to the Mediterranean slope, the Val d'Aran (37 km from Bonansa Country Hotel) faces the Atlantic slope.
The mountain passes that communicated La Val d'Aran with the Catalan regions were inaccessible during the winter and difficult the rest of the year, until the road that passes through the Bonaigua pass (1924) and the Vielha tunnel (1948) opened the way to road traffic and enabled communication throughout the year.
In 2007, Juan Carlos I inaugurated the new Vielha-Baqueira-Beret tunnel - Skiing and snow sports, with the Baqueira-Beret resort as the main attraction, have an extraordinary prestige in 'Aran. The valley is consolidating as a tourist destination throughout the year for its attraction and natural beauty, outdoor activities and adventure sports

Boí Valley

Catalan Pyrenees. Romanesque ensemble. World Heritage.
This valley of the Catalan Pyrenees, a little more than ten kilometers from Bonansa Country Hotel, hides a great wealth of heritage: eight Romanesque churches and a hermitage.

In this valley there is also the Boí-Taüll ski resort, an access to the Aigüestortes National Park and the Caldes de Boí Spa. During the months of June and July the villages of the valley celebrate the traditional "baixades de falles", burning trunks that the neighbors carry on their shoulders and with which they descend the mountains.
